Two low-pressure areas are coming together

This low-pressure area may further intensify and move northward. By May 27, another cyclone may form in the east-central Bay of Bengal and its adjacent areas. Later, it will further intensify and take the form of a low-pressure area.


Hot spells are currently continuing in the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding hot spells in the coastal districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Cuttack, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Ganjam, Gajapati. An orange alert has been issued for the next four days regarding Kalbaisakhi rain. There are reports that Kalbaisakhi rain will continue in the state till May 23.
