According to this new rule, passengers will have to use e-Aadhaar to book Tatkal tickets, which will verify the authenticity of the Aadhaar card in digital form. The Railways has said that this will make the ticket booking process more efficient and secure.
The main objective of this rule is to prevent irregularities in Tatkal ticket booking by black marketeers and brokers. Through e-Aadhaar connection, the identity of the passenger can be easily verified, so that the genuine passenger can easily get the ticket. The Railways has informed that this rule will be implemented soon, but its exact date has not been announced yet. Those who do not have Aadhaar card will also have the facility of using alternative identity documents.
