Low pressure formed

Heavy rainfall expected in the state. Meteorological department warned. Heavy rainfall is coming under the influence of low pressure. The department has issued a warning regarding continued rainfall for the next 5 days. Meanwhile, the weather is favorable for the monsoon to reach Odisha in the next two or three days. The department has issued an orange alert for Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Cuttack districts for the next 24 hours regarding pre-monsoon rainfall. Heavy to very heavy rainfall with thunderstorms is likely.

Meanwhile, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Khordha, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sonepur and Sundergarh districts will also receive heavy to very heavy rainfall along with gusty winds of 40 to 50 kmph. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in different parts of the state in the next 24 hours. There will be rain in many places of Odisha for the next five days.

Therefore, fishermen have been warned from today that they should not enter the deep sea for the next 4 to 5 days. Meanwhile, the department has warned the state that the weather will change drastically due to the low pressure in the state, with heavy to very heavy rain. While pre-monsoon rains have continued, the department has predicted that the morning monsoon will reach Odisha in two to three days.
